NEXT is a leading company in the world of electronics and appliances to make your life easier and better. They strive to make living healthier and are committed to fast innovation and creating functional products. Throughout the buildup of the company, they have always offered intuitive, sleek, creative, and eco-friendly designs; and this will be no different as they make their way into The Seaport District in Boston, Massachusetts.

CONCEPT STATEMENT:

NEXT’s new office embraces their values and offers a functional, clean layout. Designated spaces for workstations, offices, and conference rooms shape the core of the space along with open collaboration areas and a café in between to allow transparency between all employees if desired. NEXT prioritizes employees wellbeing, both inside and outside of the office, so a calm blue and green color scheme sets the scene of relaxation but yet still promote productivity. Other spaces, such as the wellness room and the mother’s room, remain enclosed to allow employees the freedom to take care of their mindset even while they are at work.

Along with this, The Seaport District in Boston is always up on the latest innovative and technology trends, which is no different from NEXT’s brand. Small touches reflecting Boston’s cityscape and historical background accent a lot of the spaces. This district is meant to be designed on how people live today, and it’s continuously growing. This creates a perfect blend and helps keep consumers and employees feeling healthy and happy every single workday.

NEXT is a leading global consumer robot company based in Providence, Rhode Island. They create consumer electronics and appliances that are designed to help you. They strive to improve everyday living through robotics. NEXT products offer innovative solutions to make your life easier with intuitive and responsive controls, sleek, stylish designs, and eco-friendly features.

Step into Seaport – nestled between Boston’s scenic waterfront and the historic Fort Point District – and you’ll feel the energy shift. There’s a little more excitement, a little extra style and a sense that something interesting is just around the corner. Like your most well-traveled, in-the-know friend, Seaport is always up on the latest, down to try something new and guaranteed to look good through it all.

FINAL RENDERINGS

View of Reception/Waiting Area

The reception area is meant to be a space that not only engages employees but communicates the brand ethos to all visitors.

The design for this area reflects the calm atmosphere that is also dispersed throughout the rest of the office. It’s a large, inviting space meant to make guests and employees excited to enter their office every single day.

View of Workstations

The workstation area is meant to allow people to be immersed into the brand of the organization, promote flexibility and provide access the latest technology.

The design for this area allows flexibility in monitor location and length, along with desk height to promote standing and movability. NEXT’s core values are placed on the back wall to encourage those working within the space. The office color scheme carries over to here since this is the primary work location.

View of Home Office Lab

The Home Office Lab is a mockup space meant to demonstrate how NEXT’s home devices may work in a home office space.

This space includes a neutral color theme to allow the products being tested to be the primary focus.

View of Cafe Sitting Area

The work cafe is meant to be a space where employees can decompress and enjoy a meal together at any time during the day. As part of the NEXT culture, workers are encouraged to eat with others vs. alone at one’s desk.

To follow NEXT’s values, this space provides both casual meeting areas along with tables for eating. All include 2 seats to allow collaboration and promote eating with others. The color scheme is balanced a bit here with the dark wood flooring to separate the space a bit.

View of Cafe Kitchenette View

This area of the work cafe includes the casual meeting area, along with the kitchenette. The casual meeting area is perfect for informal meetings, collaborations, or a quick chat with some light snacks provided.

The acoustical ceiling panels not only help with noise separation of the space, but also follow along with the color scheme and balance with the neutral upholstery and surface options.

View of Private Office

The three private offices are meant to allow for heads down, focused work as well as the ability to collaborate with 1 or 2 guests.

This private office holds the design scheme just like the rest of the office to promote calm and productive work. It harbors multiple collaboration surfaces, along with two adjustable monitors so it can cater to whoever needs it for the day.
